life Weekend

5 on a Friday, including Giveaway Winner

November 14, 2025

1- First things first: congratulations to Megha (comment #58) who won the Sprouted planner! Be sure to check Elisabeth’s site too if you entered!

I already emailed Megha and she says she hasn’t won anything since she was 10 and is excited!! Megha, I will get this in the mail this weekend.

2- My Week of Fatigue is maybe ending. I actually think there was some viral component; C had a cold and no one else seemed to fully get it, but I think some of us (including me) may have had a super mild version featuring Very Low Energy and Throat Gunk. I really did dial down everything ‘optional’ this week and have no regrets.

3- BOOK NEWS: Hopefully by THIS WEEKEND I will have the preorder bonuses up and running! THEY ARE GOOD ONES, you guys: a really pretty pdf planning checklist and access to a free webinar (in January). And yes, a place with links to preorder the book on this website would be a good idea!

(Don’t worry, if you already preordered you can still receive the bonuses!)

T-1 month and 2 days until this book is officially out in the world!

Places to preorder: Bookshop, Amazon, B&N, Target (and apparently right now they have a “buy 2, get 1 free” deal that applies to this book), your local store, request at your library!

4- Thank you for the topic inspo! I think I’ll do a “Reader Request” series, because why not. Feel free to add your ideas to this post.

And, to the reader with a 7 month old who noted she was losing it, OMG, I 100% get it. Baby and toddler years are so, so hard. Looking back the profound loss of moment-to-moment autonomy was the worst part — there were so many times when I felt like all I had time / energy to do was respond to the babies’ needs (for me the absolute toughest phases of this were from ~2012 to 2016 — A’s birth to C’s toddlerhood). Looking back I now see — okay, that was a season, albeit a long one, and it all made sense. BUT IT WAS SO HARD. And many times I felt really sad and lonely about it.

(It was not as hard with G. It was still hard, just not quite as bad because had more systems, more perspective, more of a network, and more solid identity as a mom AND feeling like my own person too, all of which helped. So maybe it will get better for you, too!)

You are not alone though and you will get through it! I will do a more detailed post on this another week but I just wanted to send you some solidarity / support!!

5- FULL WEEKEND UP AHEAD! Josh is on call but I have an event tonight (diabetes benefit!), plus A’s team has an in-house meet (she is not competing due to her injuries, but we will go to watch) and Sunday night features book club. The school also has a musical performance AND I have to figure out the above preorder stuff.

(Honestly, the weekends look pretty full until we head to Montana! Lots of holiday fun up ahead! I think it will be a fun season. Also, I need a Holiday Party outfit. This dress comes in petite and I am considering it. For better or for worse, the velvet halter jumpsuit does not.)

Oh gosh the baby phase is hard! Sleep is so challenging for many babies and that adds to the feeling of being kind of lost at sea. I hope that commenter is being gentle with herself!

What did your book club read? We met last week to discuss ‘Atmosphere’ by TJR which I loved! Not everyone did, though. We meet in early December to select our 2026 reads. It’s my favorite meeting of the year. I look up library hold info for everyone selections that we are considering so for a spreadsheet lover like me, it’s extra fun. 🥰

I’m glad you are feeling better but am glad you didn’t get a full on cold! I am dreading cold season!

I actually just realized that the planners that are offered by Heather @ Sprouted Planner are categorized by different time units: Hourly planners, daily planners, weekly planners, monthly planners, and so forth.
I’ll trust you when you point out that there was some viral component to your week of fatigue, Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger.
As you may have anticipated, I’ve already pre-ordered the book “Best Laid Plans: A Simple Planning System for Living a Life That You Love” from a public library in Calgary, Canada.
I also think it will be a fun season, Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger, especially when you got help from Ms. Jen Ludwig – that is, in terms of the advice she has on holiday planning.
