Big Sky Dispatch: #2 Ski Day

December 25, 2025

I have no complaints about day 2. Josh and I got to ski together — we did a bunch of green + blue trails and I felt mostly confident until the end of the day when my legs were tired and just felt like they didn’t want to try hard anymore!

The big kids finished up with their ski school stint and I am pretty sure both are now better than me. G had a great day and made a friend in her ski school class (she has one more day of lessons left on this trip).

Josh and I enjoyed a solo lunch and the day felt like a nice long date.

A few pix . . .

gorgeous morning sunrise
typical breakfast scene
nice mountain selfie (by Josh)
cozy time in lieu of hot tub time — I read a bunch of Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty (which I am loving — mortality theme, and it reads like candy)

We ended the night at Ousel + Spur pizza (our third time there because it’s that good). This is the first year G can deal with her own baths and the kids basically put themselves to bed. There are still occasional mini-tantrums (mostly when people get too tired/hangry), but this really is a travel sweet spot.

TODAY ==> Yellowstone. Which is good because my body is sore and a break from skiing sounds perfect.

Gorgeous views! I hope you are all sleeping hard! Can’t wait to hear about your Yellowstone experience! I’ve never been there but hope to go someday, maybe when one of the boys is in 4th grade and get a park pass.
