Today’s episode is always one of my very favorites to record — I shared an almost-done draft of my 2026 goals.
(I can confidently say that now they are done. I finalized them on the plane last night in Apple Notes and will be copying them into my paper system tomorrow so they are officially OFFICIAL.)
I used 5 domains this year: Self, Relationships, Family/Home, Work, and Fun. In the ep, I go into detail about each of the items on my list and the strategies I hope to employ to help some of them come to fruition.
Additional info:

- Best Laid Plans: A Simple Planning System for Living A Life that You Love is out wherever books are sold (see below — I cannot tell you how thrilling it is to find your own book in a store). Also: the audio releases January 6!
- 2026 Courses are still open with sessions of Best Laid Plans at Home: Planning 2026 held in January! Visit theshubox.com/courses for more info and to register.

(At a B&N in Bozeman, where I ended up purchasing A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping which made our flights home a delight!)
((Don’t worry I will be posting more about my 2026 goals in future posts — so if you’d rather read about them than listen, it’s coming!))

I have a limited budget this year, so I have formally requested for my library to order your book! 🙂
Thanks for putting it out into the world! I very much look forward to reading it.
That is awesome!! It’s also on audio, so if your library connects to libby you may be able to listen to it that way!
I actually requested both the physical book AND the audiobook via Libby. 🙂
Cheering you and your publication on!
For your business finances try Waveapps (https://www.waveapps.com/). They have a free version for simple stuff. This was recommended to me by an accountant for my wife’s business.
ooh this looks great! thank you!!
Happy New Year Sarah! RE: work finances – since you already have YNAB, have you tried using a different budget on YNAB just for your business? I use this method for us – one budget for the household and a different one for the business. The business has a savings/chequing account but we don’t have a separate credit card for the business, just a reimbursement list on the business side to keep track of expenses that are work related that’s been charged on the credit card. It helps to keep track of income and the spending categories.
someone just told me this!!! I just need a separate checking and i could do this!
