Time Tracking Report #2: Thursday

April 10, 2026

Thursday = Clinical work day in my ‘usual’ office, though it’s typically my lightest clinical day. Where I work, full time endos get 1/2 day admin per week to catch up on results, make phone calls, do CME/admin stuff etc. I get the part-time equivalent of that, but honestly it’s a bit uneven with some Thursdays having zero admin time and others having more. This particular day I had a mostly open morning.

(I promise I am often busier than this! But I do want to be honest here!)

5:00 Up (though woke up at 4:15 AM due to Josh moving around, but I went back to sleep). Sleep total = 7 hrs 15 min. The usual AM routine (coffee, reading, Headspace, journaling, tracking, planning, etc. This time I prevail in the NYT Mini, haha).

6:15 CG workout – 30 min glute-focused workout that was more like 35 minutes. LOT OF BURNING.

6:50 Help kids, breakfast, get ready

8:00 Drive to work

8:30 Deal with clinical inbox and various things in there; make phone calls to pts, etc

10:00 INBOX EMPTY and patient not here yet . . . write recap post from yesterday + catch up on some other life admin

10:35 Clincal work; answer call from outside hospital, see patients, talk to colleagues about a couple of tough cases

12:15 Lunch, read blogs, take a 20 min walk, again talk to colleagues about some inpatient cases (a younger one came in my office with questions – 2 were patient related and one was about her kids’ bday party! LOVE THAT, very BOBW.)

1:30 Patients + notes

5:10 Done! Drive home, chat with my sister and listen to music (new Arlo Parks)

5:45 Home. Dinner (taco salad + tortilla chips) with G, clean up, change

6:30 Work on printing little stickers to go in my 5 year journal (it was on my list!)

my version of arts & crafts

7:05 Pick up C (take G) from soccer very close to the house. Josh was there already — he had texted but I didn’t see it. It was a 5 minute drive if that though, so no harm.

7:20 Play piano with G (she was . . unfocused to say the least, but at least we did something) + my own piano. I bought too easy of a book but I’m still determined to play through all of it, the sight reading practice is good and because it’s easy it’s kind of fun. During this, A is at gymnastics (5:15 – 8:45) and J/G are playing chess.

8:00 Finish the photo project, work on some travel planning (Josh and I are doing a couples trip in May that requires booking of activities in advance . . . more on that to come!) and call my MIL Bebe who turned 76 today!! She is unfortunately struggling with very difficult health issues and we send our love and some crazy videos too.

9:00 Put G to bed and help C with 7th grade course/elective requests — exciting! He’s considering the robotics team . . .

9:35 Read more of Finding Grace (this is a novel btw, not nonfiction though I know it sort of sounds that way). Some spicy romantic scenes, we have reached the open door portion of the book I guess!

10:00 Sleep

. . . and there we have it, day #2!

I know Jenny was inspired and decided to play along (yay, I’m excited to read!) — anyone else trying out some spring time tracking?

(The voyeur in me would love to read it, so let me know! Ha!)

HAPPY FRIDAY . . . and back with more tomorrow 🙂

I’m going to check out the new Arlo Parks–I’ve been trying to listen to more new music this year, but haven’t been checking out as many things in the past month. I’m looking forward to the new Michaela Davis album, and my husband just bought tickets to 2 concerts coming up, so I’m hoping I find some new music I’m excited about.
