Honestly this one is a little bit hard to write because by far the biggest thing that happened (that sort of overshadows everything else) was the loss of Josh’s mother, Bebe. At the same time, I still want to celebrate the other moments of the month, because those happy memories coexist with the overall picture.
So: here we go – round 4 using the same template (Jan / Feb / Mar).
Books Read – 4, 2 fiction and 2 NF, which is about average for me! On 4/30 I was at 14 total books which is honestly a little low for me. What can I say — I think I’ve watched some good TV instead.
Finding Grace by Loretta Rothschild, which I liked (but also found frustrating!)
Sky Daddy by Kate Folk, which I LOVED (thanks again to Caroline for the rec!)

Body Electric by Manoush Zomorodi, which motivated me to walk more
Tell Me About Joy by Kara Kavensky, which I really enjoyed — it’s a memoir with a historical component and the author is working with the same (awesome) editor I worked with on Best Laid Plans.
Date nights:
We managed 3 (!), though Josh would only count 1 since 2 of them involved other humans.

We had an impromptu date to our local gourmet pizza place (sat at the bar with ‘our’ server), the aforementioned social date, and then also went out with Josh’s college BFF and his girlfriend when he was in town for a conference.
Habits: Analog tracking still working well for me.
Meditation: 19/30 days
Walk outside: 21/30 days (kind of surprised, but I guess so much travel got in the way)
Read: 28/30 days
Music: 24/30 days
Duolingo: 16/30 days
Fitness:
Caroline Girvan Iron strength workouts: 14 total (#14-28). Glad to be done, haha.
Club Pilates: 4 sessions, 1.5 and 2.0 level. Low due to travel.
Walking: 21/30 days, ave steps 8562
Yoga: 3 times
TV/Movies/Performances: 3 episodes of The Pitt (S2), 2 eps Euphoria (S3), 2 eps Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Monthly Goals:
SUCCESSES
- Self-care while traveling — I’d say I did ok with this! It was a very travel-heavy month.
- Practice a capella music – Yep!
- Positive attitude on my call week – YES, I think I did pretty well there
- Trade October call weekend – CHECK
- Finish all of the BLPA2.0 content – YES! (Still working with designer to edit workbook pages but we’re almost there)
- Took A shopping for her bday
- 2 scheduled Kon-Mari sessions
- Metaplanning wins: planned Miraval with Josh, bought July 4th flights (with points)
FAILS
- Bring 2 dresses to tailor. I do still want to, though.
- Get 1 AA business card – no, but I think I did get my Hilton-branded AMEX in April (and a bunch of points and a free night cert!).
April Highlights
IT WAS A MONTH.

- Started the month in Disney with my sister and niece – we had a great time!
- Naples trip with A’s friends was lovely
- Traveled to Gainesville to see A compete — she didn’t have the best overall meet but won her category in floor!
- Traveled to Williamstown for an incredibly fun time at the a capella group reuinon

- Josh BQ’d with a 10 minute buffer (and we booked our 2027 Boston hotel!)
Lowlights, other than the obvious
- A broke her hand and finger while at gymnastics (3rd + 4th fractures for her)
Seriously, what a Month. So many emotions: sadness, gratitude, high highs and low lows. Onward + upward.

You don’t have to answer this, but how are the brain md supplements working for you? I swear they make such a difference for me.
I think they maybe do help!!?? Like you I just take one a day. I did order a refill. It’s so hard to tell when primary symptoms are mood (and I def hav NOT been PMS-free entirely) but I think it might be a bit better and i feel like even if it’s placebo i’lL take it!!!!
Yes, it was quite a month for you. You did a LOT. All that traveling makes the month seem extra long- hard to believe that Disney was in April (it seems longer than that). Love the rare whole family pic (I get it- I have a teenager who doesn’t want her face on my blog, ever!)
