Last night was lovely! We celebrated Rosh Hashanah with family friends who host the same party every year and it’s such a fun tradition. All the kids are getting older making the event even more relaxed, and the kids (mostly teens + tweens now!) all seem to get along really well, too.
(The hosts are Josh’s longtime family friends, AND they are also his cousin’s wife’s sister’s in-laws. Ha. It’s a little confusing, but that family connection happened in part because the two danced together at our engagement party back in 2005.)
I was going to sleep in but somehow was up at 6 AM anyway so I just . . . embraced it.
Already done:
✅ Tennis / walk (to clarify: G has tennis; I walk along a lovely path nearby that used to be one of my common running routes). I love this Saturday AM combo, and the weather was reasonable. I mean hot, but no storm threat, so I’l take it.
✅ Tax stuff (including Q3 estimated, fun times).
✅ Half gym / half home workout (I did half legs at the gym and half biceps/back because I accidentally did shoulder/chest/tri twice this week!). I would have completed it all at the gym but it was soooo crowded. Will avoid the 10-11 AM Saturday rush in the future.
I am currently on Drive Duty because Josh took G to more Rosh Hashanah festivities at his sister’s; A/C dd not want to miss activities (they missed last week) so I am currently hanging out at School of Rock.

Coming Up:
☑️ ORGANIZING SESSION IN C’S ROOM! I have primed him. We are going to play Green Day on his record player and go through his clothing. It is time.
☑️ More kid driving (picking up A at 3:30; then C has bball 5-6 omg although Josh and I can split this as he should be back)
☑️ Dinner out @ YOT! Love YOT (and it also happens to be where we do dinner one night at BLP Live, so I need to make sure the peanut butter pie is still awesome).
Some of my stressors seem to be more ironed out and we had a long family meeting in the car about some things (and then we decided to make the YOT reservation).
Just happy to be having a ‘normal’ weekend over here .
Also, saw this today — I need to put early voting in my calendar!
