and i don’t just mean ‘american!’. i’m actually pretty excited about this. i always thought my speech pattern was pretty nondescript, but either a) everyone who takes this quiz gets ‘philadelphia’ as their place of origin (take it, and prove me wrong!), or b) those 18 years growing up in and just outside of philadelphia really did have an impact.
i wonder if i’ll ever transition over to ‘southern’ or whether i’m philadelphia to stay. i am more likely to say ‘y’all’ than ‘youse’ but only, like, ironically.
