Travel Weekend

Current feelings, music rec, and NC trip!

November 5, 2019

FEELING: overwhelmed (at least a little bit) though also happy because I had a great weekend away with Annabel (pix below, or for a bit more, check out the highlight on my Instagram). Honestly, it was so relaxing and fun! It made me want to plan more one-on-one trips in the future and also gave me such hope for our family trips in just a few years.

They won’t always be like this.

THINKING: that I should have taken yesterday off (!)

HOPING: that our house will close on schedule

READING: nothing right now! (NEED to fix this!)

LISTENING: Caroline Polachek! Love.

she really was this excited (and to be honest so was I)
staying in a nice hotel together was part of the fun!
I definitely recommend The Mayton Inn for anyone visiting Cary.
nightly veg sessions = watching Holiday Baking Challenge & HGTV
She was into both!
8 miles in this gorgeousness
Crisp, cool, and delightful. It really made me miss NC.
celebrating with Aunt Bec (29 weeks – she is due in January!)
cannot wait for my baby niece to arrive!

I’m so glad you had a fun mother/daughter trip! It seems like Annabel is at such a great age for a trip like that. And I bet she loved the one-on-one time and not fighting for attention! I’d love to do this some day with my son when he’s older – he’s 20 months so close to G’s age – aka not a fun age for travel! But some day we’ll go on some adventures together and maybe he’ll go on one with daddy, too. We’ll see how life unfolds. Glad you got to enjoy some cooler, crisp running temps!

Yay! Looks like you two had a blast. You got to see what having an only child is like for a weekend! Isn’t it amazing?? 😁

The last time I traveled solo with a kid was when I took my 9 month old with me to a wedding! I’m not sure either boy would be OK with staying behind while I took there brother along so I’m not sure this is in our cards for a while, but it sounds nice πŸ™‚
