Last night I watched 2.5 eps of White Lotus and it was glorious. The kids were happily watching Frozen 2. We all had popcorn. It would have been a pretty fantastic night had I not had another migraine (began in afternoon and worsened until I finally took a sample of the migraine med I was prescribed BUT have not successfully gotten covered by insurance — yet which does seem to work pretty well.)
To clarify: when I have discussed wanting to minimize “screen time” I am referring to scroll time on my phone, not deliberately selected TV shows watched in full screen without distractions.
Just picked up from library:
I will probably read during the kids’ screen time (if I don’t watch more White Lotus . . .). Plans for now however:
✔︎ Michael’s (kids want to get some fall themed crafts etc and A ‘needs’ more rainbow loom bands in specific colors . . .)
✔︎ Check out the tiny version of Young At Art that popped up after the old one closed (so sad!)
✔︎ ? Lunch outside somewhere? Or back at home, depending on timing . . .
✔︎ Screen time / relax
✔︎ Takeout Night
✔︎ Basically nothing ‘productive’. I’m at peace with it today!

Sounds like a lovely evening and day you have planned. And sometimes those “non productive” days are just what the doctor ordered. Lol
I was rear ended on the way home from work last night. I’m fine, the vehicle driveable and am joining you in a non productive day because it’s what feels right today.
Here’s to the weekend!
Your plan sounds great! As a fellow migraine sufferer I hope your medicine is covered ASAP! Finding the right medication during grad school changed my quality of life with dramatically where migraines were/are concerned even 15+ years later!
I was obsessed with White Lotus!!! So glad it was renewed. It’ll have a new cast and location for season 2. Enjoy!!
I really liked Normal People so hope you enjoy it as well. I did not care for Conversations w/ Friends. I’ve heard her new release is good, too, so plan to check it out! Miracle Creek was an interesting read as well!
Sorry to hear about the migraine! 🙁 I hope the meds worked. That is annoying that you can’t get them approved by insurance, though. I hate all the hoops you have to jump through for some meds. The PA process for some of the RA injections I’ve tried has been HORRIBLE!!
I LOVED miracle creek and read it in 2 days (sat and Sunday hahaha). Excited to dive into Normal People!
Just have to say that I love seeing your book hauls and reading lists! I just finished Oona Out of Order which I selected from your list and loved it (except for that somewhat disappointing ending which fell a little flat for me).
Crossing my fingers that you find a med you like AND your insruance covered! Prescription migraine medication CHANGED MY LIFE.
Hi! I’m very new to your blog so I’m sure you’ve answered this question somewhere previously and I just haven’t found it yet. How do you read so many books?! 50 in a year is amazing for anyone, let along a Residency Program director and mom. Please share your secrets or the place where you’ve already shared them 🙂 Thanks! Enjoying the blog and the podcasts (which led me to the blog).
