we moved!

April 22, 2022

I survived my 3 days/nights of call. I cannot say I had the most pleasant 3 days, but I had a reasonably good attitude. 3 days in a row is so much better than 7.

And, we MOVED!

Our house = boxes everywhere, but I am excited to get started organizing/unpacking. Though right now I am admittedly a bit overwhelmed. So, more later . . . wish us luck.

Aww, good luck! Moving is a PAIN 😬 As much as I would love more space, we love our location and this house mostly works. It’s very affordable, especially after refinancing last year and we have enough space now that the kids are back in school (not a luxurious amount, but it’s ok). But, it will totally be worth it in the long run for you all! I have a feeling we’ll be getting the itch soon 😊

Best wishes for your unpacking! We packed up half the house in February for our remodel. Fingers crossed we’ll be finished in about 2 weeks. I’m not looking forward to unpacking those boxes but am very ready to have our house back in its fully functional state.

Pace yourself :). If every adult does two boxes a day you will be done in a few weeks. Or as done as you will feel like getting (says the lady who never did unpack all the books…)

Yay you’ve moved! We moved two weeks ago, and there’s still some boxes around, but enough of the house is unpacked that we can enjoy our new space. I definitely relate to that initial feeling of overwhelm. I found a goood strategy was to focus on getting one room totally set up and unpacked at a time (once the essentials are done to make the house liveable). That way we got a little reward of seeing one room look all set up every couple of days. Good luck!!!

Congrats. I feel like the worst part is the actual move, so give yourself a huge pat on the back for getting through that while concurrently handling a call schedule.
I hope – despite all the box chaos – you can start to feel a bit of relief already <3

It will get better this weekend and BEST WISHES. That picture with the boxes really reminded me. I shall re-examine each room and drawer and shelf and find more to never need to move again to a new house. Doing this every single year helps even if I don’t move in the foreseeable future.
As Laura said before, do an intense day tomorrow, Saturday, of unpacking so things are live-able then two boxes a day for each adult and it all happens. And on Sunday take several hours off and do something fun and neighborhood-y with your children! (Avoid meal prep and order in or go out!)
