Life Highlights:

Sometimes even people who LOOOOVE planning get behind. I decided that nothing terrible would happen if I did not post show notes yesterday and so far, everything seems to be okay. I prioritized rest (after Sunday’s half marathon!) and celebrating C’s actual birthday (at the zoo + sushi!).

Here he is with his VR HEADSET OMG:

this is actually from a friend (and possibly a loan) but he was THRILLED
not too old to climb on things
he did NOT LOOK REAL!!!! so cool.
HOT

Today has been a productive whirlwind day of lots of pod recordings, BLPA fun (round 2 about to be full!), BOBW Patreon (book club – we are reading Gretchen Rubin’s Life in Five Senses next), and more.

I can’t believe the kids are 5, 9, and almost 11. Life definitely keeps moving.

Can we hear more about todoist and carplay? I’ve been searching for AGES for a way to take a quick note (safely!) while driving, and have come up empty so far. Would love details from Emilie on how she gets todoist to integrate with carplay!

I am not sure about this integration but my method is simpler. I just create a reminder for later (when I know I’ll be done driving) to add xyz to my to do list. It’s not perfect but it works.

On the idea of a planner gender divide, it reminded me of a time – not long ago – when it was hard to find women’s voices on productivity in the podcast realm. It’s been great to hear more women stepping into and balancing the conversation. Might be interesting to poll podcasters in the space for their planner peace. When I started my career in the mid-90s, all employees were encouraged/ required to go through Covey’s 7 Habits training and the company paid for our first binders and every annual pages. Male dominated field, and we all had planners on our desks and in hand at meetings. (Yes, I still have and use mine.)
