I didn’t mention it while they were gone (they return today!) but J took C skiing in the Poconos! He did miss a day of school — Thursday was supposed to be a half day but due to hurricane makeups it transformed back into a full day.

C has decided he prefers skiing to snowboarding. I’ve never tried snowboarding but I have to say skiing SEEMS much easier, so this makes sense to me!

Apparently there was a lot of falling and a whole lot less snow than Montana (check out the brown/green background . . . ) but they had fun!

And they totally visited the Natural History Museum because of our recent movie night.

I was slightly jealous but the girls and I had fun! AND I channeled my desire to be on vacation into creating a detailed itinerary for DC.

(And reserving tickets to things like the Spy Museum and restaurants – honestly I should have stared earlier! I think we got most of what we wanted, though.)

I have to say breaking off into different combinations of family members can be fun! We enjoyed an evening walk and watched a) JetPens videos and b) Cinderella (live action version) with no complaints from the peanut gallery. AND let’s not forget today’s exciting jaunt to The Container Store – ha!

Will spend the rest of gymnastics today reading this:

Not the most believable but kind of fun nonetheless.

Oh that’s fun! I’m glad they had a good time! I liked It’s Funny You Should Ask. I’d like to be reading at the moment but I have a bunch of ebook library loans and kiddo is playing the Lego app on my iPad.

Jealous of a container store trip, we don’t have anything comparable in the UK and I miss it.

Funny You Should Ask was inspired by real interviews with Chris Evans, Channing Tatum, and Tom Hiddleston, the latter by Taffy Broddeser-Akner, who also wrote Fleishman is in Trouble. This article links to them. https://www.shondaland.com/inspire/books/a39706769/elissa-sussman-funny-you-should-ask/Ok

I would also love to see your DC plans! We are going a little later in April and I haven’t planned anything yet!

I did Washington with my 10 year old last fall. I would skip the spy museum!
