1- HOLIDAY WEEKEND!
This one totally snuck up on me, since I took 2 days off last week. Neither of us has call, either, so that’s particularly exciting. As of now, we have:
- a date night
- another date night but this one WITH Annabel to finally see Are You There God. Thankfully it’s stilll in some theaters!
- a Sunday outing (as long as weather isn’t horrendous)
- a Monday BBQ
I feel like we need something for tomorrow . . . G can hopefully get in some biking practice. I kind of want to see Little Mermaid too – two movies in one weekend would be slightly insane but . . . maybe could happen.
2- PODCAST: MAKING MY SCREEN FREE MONTH LOOK TAME . . .
On the no-screens-ever end of the spectrum:
3- HOW TO BE FINE: BULLET JOURNALS
Here’s another ep I found fascinating though not necessarily in line with my own thoughts around the topic. Example: they bring up tracking and have a largely negative view of the practice. I absolutely acknowledge there can be a downside (in fact – I did an episode called Tracking: Good, Bad, and Ugly) but also . . . it’s not a mental health negative for everyone or a morally objectionable tool, in my opinion.
4- Anne Bogel’s SUMMER READING GUIDE came out last week but I just got around to purchasing it, since I want to make my own summer reading list this weekend! She also just released a great list of backlist summer reads: HERE. I have come to realize that I really enjoy reading seasonally — with light summer-themed or travel-heavy books in summer.
5- WE HAD HAIL!
I think for the first time, we had HAIL in our neighborhood! Here was a pic taken by a neighbor:

I love summer reading guide season! I tend to end up reading the books that are suggested in the fall or winter since I exclusively get books from the library. But I love making a list of books to read from the various guides in my W222! Have you read Hello Beautiful?? It’s my favorite read of 2023 so far!
I will add it – I trust you!!
I took my 13 yo daughter to see “Are You There God?” tonight, and we both loved it! We read the book a few years ago and had a book club to discuss, so this was so fun to reminisce. I laughed and even teared up at times. What did you and Annabel think?
We are going tonight! I can’t wait 🙂
