The “weirdly specific“:
- Library holds. This system never ceases to amaze me. I can get books . . . the ones I want . . . for free? SO AMAZING.
- Door Dash (etc). Not going to lie, sometimes it’s just so nice to have lunch delivered at work.
- That I can wear scrubs to work and no one seems to mind! I feel like I can move around the office faster and am more cheerful because I’m comfortable.
- Our weather (for the most part), November through April. It’s really 6 months of heaven over here most of the time! (We will not discuss the other 6 months.)
- Podcasts! What an awesome invention. So much great free content out there.
The general:
- HEALTH. My own and that of my family. For the most part, feel very lucky in this regard.
- Generally feeling safe most of the time. That is not something to be taken for granted.
- My job(s). I have two jobs that I enjoy (and honestly really like the hybrid — either of them at 100% wouldn’t be quite right).
- My colleagues in the clinical world AND the podcast world. My fellow doctors, nurses, our staff, Laura, our sound team, my lovely graphic designer, live course coordinator, everyone! ALSO our nanny who has put up with us for >10 years now . . . seriously so so grateful.
- My kids’ teachers. WOW that is a hard job.
- ALLLLLL OF YOU. Whether you have taken a course, listened to every podcast episode, or just check in on the blog every once in a while – you are all much appreciated. Extra extra kudos to anyone who has ever taken the time to comment. You make this space what it is!
So far, operation RELENTLESSLY CALM has been working. I hope I can keep it going!
