Catching Up
I feel like I’m finally catching up on life after a hectic stretch! It hasn’t been particularly bad-hectic or even stressful-hectic. It’s just that most days have been filled with lot of ‘hard landscape’ activities that didn’t leave much room for life maintenance/important-but-not-urgent things.
INBOX ZERO has been reached — possibly for the first time this year, I’m not entirely sure. I aim for weekly but sometimes life gets in the way, and this month was like that!
Also on the docket for life catchup:
- Clearing off my desk / Sunday basket area — it has been languishing for weeks and I keep putting “clear desk” on my task list and pushing it off
- Make invites for C’s bday party in late Feb (assuming A will help me design a graphic as she usually does). Sending will be a little more complicated because likely not inviting the whole class but rather a selection of friends in his class and a few others.
- Send 20 more New Years Cards — YEPPPP I finally started sending! 20 have been mailed out, about 50 to go!! I started with people who sent us cards and FINALLY started a google sheet for addresses. I love apple notes but the ‘tables’ function there is just not up to the task.
However all of the above probably won’t happen today because a) we have a really fun night coming up; b) I probably won’t get home until ~3:30 from kid activities etc; and c) I really think I need a nap so that I can enjoy said fun night.
OTHER THINGS I’M HOPING TO DO:
Finish The Peculiar Sadness of Lemon Cake
Strength train at least once + yoga for 20-30 min (Sunday). Long run is DONE. (ASIDE: My heart goes out to anyone running the MIA marathon or half tomorrow because our weather is totally blah, AND we have an amazing cold front arriving by Monday.)
Have a 10 minute meeting related to estate planning with Josh
Groceries (TJ; also it’s def a PrepDish week as I have no brilliant meal planning inspo)
Help A pack for trip (she has a FIVE DAY FIELD TRIP next week all over Florida; C has his 3 day trip Weds-Fri!)
I think that’s enough.

Enjoy your date night! We have one scheduled for next Saturday. Hopefully it actually happens. We were supposed to go to my parents this weekend but our oldest woke with a fever yesterday and started the day today by throwing up… so it is not the weekend I envisioned. I fly to LA for work on Monday so am crossing my fingers and toes that the rest of us stay healthy!!
Oh, a Google sheet, eh?? 😜 I love it. Haha.
I also have a huge list of things I want(ed) to do today but mostly seem to be sort of dinking around not making much of anything happen….
I agree – reaching Inbox Zero should automatically come with a confetti GIF. It would make me so happy and I feel like this is something Google developers could whip up in an afternoon. Does anyone have connections at Google?! I vote we pitch this as an option! (Just kidding, but only slightly – I would love some virtual fanfare for reaching Inbox Zero).
