I’m not really a Bullet Journal person
Except that maybe I kind of am? I ordered the Full Focus Wellness Planner for review purposes and while I’ve gotten a ton of ideas from the FF system in the past, I’ve realized that the only thing I want in my daily layouts is . . . nothing. I think I have realized that I am happy with a blank page (lined, graph, or dot grid) over any other format.
The reasons I did not previously consider myself a Bullet Journal person are:
- I don’t use classic ‘signifiers‘, though I have my own that work for me (example: “x” through a checkbox means complete, “>” through a task box means I’ve carried it forward somewhere else; “-” through the box means never mind, I’m not doing it!)
- I don’t want to draw out weekly or monthly layouts, so I use a more traditional planner for these views
- I don’t generally use Moleskine or Leuchtturm1917 notebooks (lol, definitely not a requirement but I feel like these is traditional).
Anyway, just noting this about myself. Also, the most stressful/weird my life is, the close I come to a more traditional BuJo technique, mixing journal entries and daily logs and various collections all together. There is something comforting about this practice for me. (I kept my 2020 BuJo and maybe I will look back at it later today!)
I have relaxation items on my to do list today.
Including reading and watching Emily in Paris. I didn’t put nap on the list but I think I will add it.
I do feel kind of excited about fall(ish) clothing. It does not in any way, shape, or form feel like fall here right now (just finished one of the most brutal long runs of the season), but in addition to pumpkin bread, subtle changes in wardrobe can at least make it sort of feel like a new season, right?
On my “want” list:
- Wide leg Allison pants
- Some lightweight but refined looking long-sleeved shirts (maybe like this one)
- Some new pairs of scrubs because I need to mix it up beyond the sage/navy I wear most days. Thinking like purple or burgundy . . .
That is pretty much it. My wardrobe is kind of boring and functional these days and I don’t actually mind. (Though I do need to figure out an outfit for Taylor Swift in a month . . .)
Back tomorrow with reading/workout report. I finished a book for the first time in a month so, that is good.

Good for you for running 18. It felt awful here as well. I was just glad to get through 12 :/
17 and it was kind of a suffer fest!
I bullet journal but not in the traditional sense. I basically just do a to do list (just a bullet list under the date), food and workout log, and a journal entry. Then I might write out a reading tbr a page. It’s super basic. I may add a sticker or washi but otherwise it’s just a black fine liner or pencil and I highlight the date. It’s the only planner I’ve managed to stick with and actually use. I’ve done it since 2020 and love the simplicity. I use the calendar on my phone to track appointments, etc.
i also did bullet journal style during the pandemic before shifting to hobonichi techo for two years now. I like the free style of Bullet journal but also like the planning/monthly/weekly layout of techo. can’t decide which one I prefer, is there any journal to have both features?
a hobonichi cousin can be formatted more bullet journal style in the daily pages to a weeks mega has a ton of blank pages to use that way as well.
Yep, not fall-ish here in the least. September has to be the worst weather month in South Florida- it’s either hot and steamy, or a thunderstorm. Nice job doing a long run in this muck!
