life Weekend

Up this weekend . . .

  • A’s first meet (tonight)!! Hoping it goes well and she has fun; I’m excited to spectate!
  • Soccer x 1 / football x 1 (probably Josh will go to these while I grocery shop + write)
  • Super Bowl (aka excuse to eat fun food on a Sunday night)
  • Editing when I can
  • Planning tasks: C’s bday party (going to do Top Golf this time! First non-video-game truck party in forever!) + Josh’s final four trip

Feel like I am in a ‘calm before the storm’ window before my call week / book due date shortly thereafter. I kicked off the weekend by managing to get in a strength workout after work which was . . . honestly not as bad of a Friday night activity as I anticipated. I got home at 6:40 pm while G was finishing up her piano lesson (her teacher comes around 6:20). I had been telling myself stories about how that wasn’t a reasonable time to work out but . . . turns out it was just fine. It really didn’t even take up the whole evening!

(I am better off doing at least one post-clinic evening a week vs taking time from both non-clinical days! I need those work hours!)

Random Phone Pix!

A and I were like “wait, what, red-bottoms?” — apparently Ariana was talking about Louboutin heels here!
I am appalled at this branding and will never drink something labelled “unwell” but I guess they are getting noticed?
sent to Josh in a flurry of excitement
winter might be over here. hoping not, but at least it’s nice and sunny.
sent to my sister trying to convince her that cottage cheese is a delicious base for granola; she remains very skeptical

I hope everyone reading this is having a lovely start to the weekend!

Cottage cheese is an excellent base FOR EVERYTHING.
I had cottage cheese as a kid and hated it, and was so skeptical when it became all the rage in the last year or two. Now I am officially addicted to it. It’s filling and delicious.
My go-to is a bowl of cottage cheese with a spoonful of drippy PB, a giant sprinkle of chia seeds, raisins, pumpkin seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon (and fresh berries if I have them). Oh my goodness. I could eat it every single day and I basically do at this point.

Sounds good to me!!! I don’t get why cottage cheese is so polarizing 😂

I stared at that “Unwell” display for a really long time. I don’t…understand? What it is? I had to google it and now I see it’s an electrolyte drink…but…what? I’m so confused. I can’t even blame early hours or not enough coffee because I’m plenty caffeinated. So do you drink it when you are…unwell? I think I’m fixating on this.

I agree it was QUITE the choice!!!! (I guess at least it’s free publicity from people discussing the crazy name!?!?)

I started mixing cottage cheese in my omelettes and it makes them fluffy and delicious. Also like 15 more grams of protein for like 100 more calories.

I’m presently in San Diego and about to go for a run (after walking in 50 degrees this morning and then napping). It is presently 63 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. Don’t hate me!

Also presently pondering the future of my research career with all the crazy cuts that have just come. Wondering what will happen and grateful I can do lots of things.

I wanna love cottage cheese but the kind I tried didn’t convince me. Do you have a favorite brand?

      I like the Breakstones 2%!

I love cottage cheese with savory toppings, not sweet, so would enjoy seeds or nuts (especially walnuts!) but not fruit. I almost always eat it plain though.

    UnWell?? What??
I like cottage cheese and will mix a bit of jam into it, with berries.
