Coming at you on the end of a very busy call week! It was also a super interesting one with lovely patients. I am totally fatigued (couple nights of multiple overnight calls) but last night was better and — well, I’m done at 5.
And then (hoping TSA is relatively normal and JetBlue on time), I am headed on a flight to Albany for my college a capella group reunion (!). I can’t decide if I will sleep or caffeinate on the plane. My usual default Friday night activity is to attempt to merge with the couch, so this will for sure be . . . different.
(Albany is the closest airport to Williamstown MA; it’s about an hour away. I am TOTALLY anxious about this nighttime drive but I feel like I did it in college and lived to tell the tale so I can probably do it again now.)
((I could have and maybe should have stayed at an Albany airport hotel tonight and started my drive in the early AM, but it was just so appealing to get all of the way there. Hopefully I will not regret my choice.))
ANYWAY! I will give Laura some props for encouraging me to take this trip even though it did not seem convenient in the least because I am excited. I am also woefully unprepared for some (most) of the songs but . . . I mean . . . I am not under the impression that we are expected to sound, like, good. I have to say those high notes seem a lot higher than they did in 2002, you know?
They have had these reunions every 5 years, I think. I apparently went in 2007 and DO NOT REMEMBER IT AT ALL (which is . . . kind of weird, but what can you do; a lot has happened since then). This one wasn’t terribly convenient and I suppose I could have waited until 2031 but wow.
2031.
Anyway! So I’m doing the impractical and will be spending tomorrow singing with people I haven’t seen since the mid 00s. Ahhh!!

I hope you have the best time! I think singing is one of the best things about being a human. I wish I were spending my weekend singing with a bunch of my friends, lol.
