SHOW NOTES
In today’s episode, I answer questions sent during the month of July. Topics:
- How did you help your kids through the disappointment of cancelled plans (in reference to the prior week’s ep)?
- Advice for planning at the start of new motherhood?
- Follow up advice for the listener struggling with her “to buy” list
- What to do when “New Year” momentum fizzles out in spring and summer?
- How to manage your “to be read” / “to be watched” collections when they add up to wayyyyy more time than you actually have to read/watch?
VIDEO!
I also created a daily planning video, at listener request! You can find it below:

I was excited to hear that you were doing another session of Best Laid Plans Academy 2.0. I do not see the registration. Is there a waitlist for when you do open it up?
Hi! YES this is going to run in the fall – Sept to Nov! Info will be in my newsletter, coming out in the next 2 weeks (and then posted here if slots remain!)
Make sure you are signed up to receive it – theshubox.com/newsletter !
Although I am many years removed from the new mom phase, I wanted to share a suggestion that helped me a lot. Instead of a to do list in the morning, I’d write a “ta da!” list at night and list all the things I had accomplished that day (and yes, showering totally counts). It helped me see that I was still getting things done which was a great self esteem booster.
YES! that is such a good one – thank you! Will have to add to a future update.
Great advice for the new baby phase. If, before having a baby, you were someone who was productive and outcome focused, it can be really hard to adjust your expectations of what “productive” looks like.
