COZY DAY SUCCESS!
Truthfully, the weather has not been too terrible yet (recognize it could still be coming!). I think the storm did sit in the mid-Atlantic longer than expected, which means it has not made it up here to the extent it was predicted. There were some bands of heavy rain/wind (hurricane vibes!) but nothing that lasted too long yet.
A few of us started the day with a beach walk thinking it might be our last chance for a while:
We arrived back at Emily’s house to the smell of THESE coming of the oven:
The rest of the day featured a group puzzle (I barely participated – I’m so bad at puzzles! But I lounged around with everyone and at one point even took a nap), and then cocktails and dinner at Blackfish. Oh, and I got my butt handed to me at Big Boggle by Aimee and Nicole.
After dinner we got some games out (Codenames + Monikers) and we all laughed SOOOOOO hard. Codenames I really liked – it felt like playing a game version of NYT Connections!
I managed to stay up until ~11 (!!!!) and it was just such a fun cozy day. On the home front it sounds like Josh has things under control which is great (and they are going to spend time with his dad today).
I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE GOTTEN TO TAKE THIS TRIP and experience a little break from life (and trip back in time, in a way). October will be challenging (lots of call!) and I know I’ll be glad to head into the month coming off of this weekend of fun, rest, and laughter.

Yay!! So glad you had a nice time.
I am so glad that the weather has been less bad than expected. I am flying into NYC this evening for a work trip and am hoping my flight isn’t delayed as I have to be there to speak at a conference on Monday. 🤞
This girls weekend sounds so amazing! I love all the cozy time with friends. And I am impressed at their puzzle skills! I love putting puzzles together but tend to do them during the winter months. I had a puzzle themed 45th bday party where people came over in the afternoon and I had a puzzle out to work on + snacks/drinks. We did not make much progress and I haven’t worked on it since as it’s rolled up in my puzzle map/tucked away.
