IN
🧡 long novels and non-negotiable afternoon weekend reading sessions
🧡 time-blocked creative work days
🧡 pumpkin bread, chili, and soup
🧡 fun with drawing and journaling; using my stickers!
🧡 phone calls to fam + friends
OUT
❌ email checking any more than is truly necessary
❌ skipping my evening skincare routine
❌ tracking my screen time (decided this is no longer needed — I feel pretty FREEEE and the tracking/blocking had become more of a burden than a help!)
❌ extreme summer heat & humidity. (I mean, I can hope!)
Weekend report:
So far, so good! G enjoyed our little 3-person date night (both big kids @ sleepovers) and I had fun wondering what life will be like 6 years from now when she’s the only one home.
(Honestly this DOES make me sad! But I have high hopes it will also be kind of fun??)

Love the in/out list! Inspring me to do the same!
Love the lists! Ignore this question if you’ve already covered but I’d love to know how you’ve guided your kids as far as planning your time. You’ve mentioned that A enjoys planning at times too and also that you’ve worked with C on some of it too. I’m sure some of it is kid specific but if you have any general ideas as to how you’ve talked about year/monthly/weekly planning, etc., I’d love to hear about it. Enjoy your Sunday!
Our current third grader will be only child for all four years of HS. It will be quite an era and as the youngest in my family, there were some definite benefits: I remember movies, dinners, etc with my parents + bring a friend. And solo trips with parents too.
Yes same with G! 9th grade and up with no older sibs at home unless someone does a gap year or ends up back home!
I’m the oldest of three and the youngest was at home for five years by herself. She unabashedly loved it! I know my parents missed my middle sister and me but I think they enjoyed it, too! Definitely the logistics were easier only getting one daughter where she needed to be rather than all three of us.
