Weekend Catchup + Time Tracking Week!

September 15, 2026

I decided to participate in Laura’s time tracking challenge this fall, because why not?

You guys know I’ve done time tracking a million different ways — Toggl, Apple Notes, Google Sheet, analog — and this time I’m continuing to use the ol’ pen + paper method.

For fun, I will ALSO include the AI-assisted schedule I was quasi-following for this creative day at home!

Interestingly, I ended up departing from this schedule slightly, as you can see. I provided my bot with the feedback that a deep work task such as a workbook draft cannot be jumped into immediately after a 2 hour session of recording + uploading podcasts, so I took a walk, had lunch, and THEN went to down on the draft. Anyway, it gave me a revised version but I didn’t really need it; I just swapped the lunch/walk block for the deeper project work.

I think my swap helped (felt fresher after lunch/walk!) — as I finished it before the orthodontist driving ordeal began. (Side note: the workbook is going to be awesome I think, for people who want one analog capture spot for their higher-level goals from monthly -> seasonal -> annual!)

(Logistics note: If you are wondering why our nanny could not take C to have his braces adjusted, it is because G’s school lets out around the same time and in order to be early enough in the pickup time to actually MAKE said appointment, it was essential to have two simultaneous drivers. Bonus was I did some work and also read a bunch in the pickup line.)

Anyway! It was a pretty good day. And I NEEDED that 9:15 bedtime (last couple nights of sleep were kind of short).

PHOTODUMP FROM THE WEEKEND

(I always feel ridiculous recapping the weekend on Tuesday, but it is what it is!)

pumpkin muffins! (I used the TJs mix, which is a shortcut, but they are really delicious esp with walnuts sprinkled on top)
cozy reading corner she made, complete with tea
taken on a walk, these birds are so funny looking to me
my current fiction — so far it’s a ton of fun!
I sooo hope it also gets made into a TV series too!
pumpkin spiced scrubs because WHY NOT

Ha, I LOVE those scrubs!!! And, I HAVE to get myself to Trader Joes!!!
Your AI bot did a pretty good job- I’m sure with the feedback you provided, he will nail it next time : )
I never mind school pickups and appointments like that- it’s like an enforced break in my day where all I can really do is read! Also, I guess I need to get that book. Big Little Lies was my least favorite LM book, so I thought maybe I wouldn’t read this one. But who am I kidding- I love her books and I don’t want to miss this one.

90 degrees is…not traditional fall weather. I’m sorry! Way to reach out and pull a little fall into your life despite what the climate brings you!
