Well! This is a first – I arrived at Starbucks to find myself laptopless, because I left it at home on my desk! (Oops!)
To those of you who post from your phones all the time . . . I have no idea how you do it! But let’s give it a try, shall we?
1- Music! I am now 2 months into making weekly playlists and loving it. I always select from the albums featured on NPR’s New Music Friday, and attempt to incorporate different genres.
Album winners from the current week are those by Blondshell and Axel Bowen. Here’s a link to the playlist on Apple Music- this one is just 2 albums (my max is 4!). I’ll try to link these weekly!

2- Podcast ep rec: loved the recent Lazy Genius because it was chock full of fall ideas! I also fully support the idea of scheduling your fun ✅📆 .
3- Fellowship Point! It’s a really fun read so far and I feel like I have to hurry up and finish so I can discuss with Jenny. I also want to hurry because I just learned from Sarah about the sequel to The Academy! (I am apparently living under a rock).

4- In the most recent episode of Happier there was a discussion about how calling friends has become nearly obsolete in recent generations. I may make it my mission to make the Walk and Talk date a THING. They can be hard to arrange but I never ever have a bad one or regret connecting with a friend! I honestly want to come up with some sort of signup mechanism . . . but it would have to be a group thing or otherwise it would feel horribly self-centered! Or I could just text friends individually a signup sheet at the beginning of each month. Ha. Has anyone tried anything like this?? I feel like if anyone has it would be this particular segment of the population.
5- Okay I feel officially done with typing on my phone. People who do this – how??!! It’s so annoying! It may be that I’m just a very impatient person who types faster on a laptop but let’s just express my gratitude for the miraculousness that IS laptops right now!!
Happy Friday everyone!
Oh! I forgot to mention we have two winners of the planners from the giveaway (I’ll have to add the screenshots later bc they are on my laptop)!
Congrats to Sadie and Camille – and you both sent me the most delightful responses back already so yay! Thank you to everyone who entered!

I have NO IDEA how people blog entirely from their phone. Give me keyboard!! For me, laptops will NEVER be obsolete 🙂
The Walk & Talk Date thing is a great idea. I am sure somebody has a spreadsheet already LOL
I keep a list of friends that I want to connect with in the Notes program of my IPhone and refer to it when I want to connect. I divide the list into weekly, monthly and less often. Like you, I enjoy the connection of talking rather than only texting. I note when we last connected on my list. Sometimes the connections do wind up being a text, but I love the phone calls. I remember when we would always call friends and family to say “Happy birthday.” Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore outside of family and certain friends.

I sometimes talk to my father while I take a walk, but the idea of having a to do list of friends to talk to or a signup sheet / triage list strikes me as weird in kind of the same way a rank list for friends (best friend, second best friend, third best friend) strikes me as weird. But you do you.
oh it’s totally weird!! ha. I just want to make more of those chats happen!! (I also haven’t actually done it yet, lol)
Ha, I’ve never written a blog post on my phone, but I know some people do it all the time. I’m pretty sure it would be a disaster if I tried.
Yes! Fellowship Point! Book club! Hopefully you will still like it by the end, but even if not we can still discuss!
I talk to my best friend on the phone the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. We know our schedules on those days and if one of us can’t make it (we’re away, it’s a holiday, etc.) we let the other know and then I’ll reach out to one friend at a time to see if anyone else can fill that block! If the first person says no, I move on to the next. Sometimes no one is free, but usually, I only make it 1-3 people before someone else is free during that time! Most of my friends and I also will just call someone else – if that person doesn’t answer or can’t talk at that moment, it’s on them to let the other person know 1-2 times in the next week they are free, or to let them know this week isn’t the week. It generally works and it isn’t extra work for anyone else really!
aww I love that!!! thank you for sharing the strategy – I could totally try that!
