30 days, 30 posts. That was a fun exercise. I do feel like I shared more mundane details than usual, and I think (hope) it was fun for some of you to get a more intimate feel for what life is like right now. I know there were a few more requests (more planner content, a ‘what’s-in-your-bag’, etc) so I will try to get to these topics in the near future.
And no, I am not going to go for “50” or “100”, but maybe I will end up posting more often.
I am happy to report that today has gone better than expected. I did keep G out of school and met up with friends for a playdate in the park (our Miami Beach BFFs). There really is a lot of love among this crew. (NOTE: Despite our move we still see these friends all the time because a) they are really good friends AND good at planning ahead and b) they have family in Broward so coming up our way isn’t a big deal for them!).
NAPTIME has just begun and A&C are happily playing (C is finishing up his piano so he can play Minecraft & A is in some dream world setting up a Calico Critters dollhouse). I am going to do some organizing/planning for the week ahead (whiteboards!) and then probably sit back & read for a bit until ~4, which I have deemed the Latest Allowable Naptime (ie so she doesn’t want to stay up until 10 pm).
But, because it’s a tradition now:
M – nothing
T – nothing again (got busy? I don’t recall the details)
W – Late AM run, 4 mi, 10:02/mi ave, 82F but less humid. Splits: 9:27, 9:15, 9:54, 11:31 (took walk break during last mile)
R – Barre Legs (21DF, in hotel room!). Purposely avoided all upper body last week due to shoulder pain and it’s pretty much resolved now.
F – nothing (really, should have gotten up to run but somehow didn’t make it happen while at the conf. Lame!)
S – Ran 4 mi, 9:29/mi, 78F and less humid! Yay, it’s less disgusting outside! Splits 8:55, 9:13, 9:04, and then I got tired and did a hybrid run/walk for the last mile, 10:46.
S – nothing, and I was annoyed about it.
M – takeout from Chicken Kitchen (at request of Annabel)
T – Tacos / taco salad
W – leftover
R – curry chicken w/ naan & green beans
F – leftovers
S – pizza for kids, ??? for adults (having friends over for Parenting Book Club!)
S – black bean soup (also at Annabel’s request since she is watching me type this)
If you are celebrating, Happy Rosh Hashanah! Seems apropos to end my posting streak on a New Year 🙂
(Unless I end up posting tomorrow!)
Loved every post this month! Awesome streak!
Loved your streak too! I love the more mundane details, and the way they make me feel more normal as a fellow working mom.
I enjoyed the month of posts!
I loved following along! I also noticed that your posts seemed to improve as the month went on (not sure if “improve” is the right word). At the beginning of the month, it seemed like you felt you didn’t have much to say, but by the end the posts were flowing with great content! Love reading your blog, keep it up 🙂 ps A’s outfit in that picture is amazing!! Lol!
Well done on the streak! It was fun to read, including the whining posts! As many readers said, it helps us as we experience similar days. Thanks for showing the real life and not the fake perfect world we often see on social media!
