1- Keeping on keeping on. I am working on my equanimity during this life phase/challenge and maybe starting to get somewhere. I did a lot of wallowing but right now I am finding that the best thing I can do for myself is to focus on the tasks at hand and also on noticing the positive parts of life, both little and big. I don’t do well with uncertainty, but too bad — life is full of it, so I have to deal! This weekend I am looking forward to reading, watching more of Emily in Paris and pretending it feels like fall outside (HERE, IT MOST CERTAINLY DOES NOT) by making something pumpkin-y or apple.
Savored my Sbux (fairly rare treat lately) this morning:
2- Via MMD: The Everygirl’s ranking of Elin Hildebrand books. I cannot believe how prolific she has been! I have not read them all, but my personal favorite is the Hotel Nantucket (her #6). Would maybe be a fun project to at least read the top 10 listed here.
3- Listening: NPR All Songs Fall Preview. Ooh, new Mount Eerie and Soccer Mommy sound like they would fit current #mood perfectly. This came out a little over a week ago, but I’m catching up.
4- 110. That is the number of days left in 2024. Does that seem like a low number? The year is 2/3 over AND there’s still a lot left. I always find it fun to note the day when 100 days are left in the year, which falls on 9/23.
5- It’s September 13th, and my Hobonichi order (ordered 9/1 as per usual) has made it to . . . Tokyo!? (ie, not that far). Interestingly I received last year’s order SUPER early, 9/7! (I know this because I saw it in my Hobonichi 5 year! Ha!). Ahh well. The anticipation is part of the fun so I guess I am getting more bang for my buck/yen.

Thanks for the reminder, almost forgot to order next year’s Hobonichi. I am going back to Japanese this year, it adds visual interest without the stress of one more thing to read.
I get that!!
I have cycling and walking mileage goals so sometimes do the math on the rest of the year – how many miles do I need to do per day. I hope you have a restful weekend!
A popular name not a common one. 😁
I hope your waiting comes to an end soon, or you at least know how long the wait will be. I find knowing how long I will have to wait improves my rumination a lot. I hate uncertainty too. It’s annoying because I have to research everything so thoroughly, especially travel and previously purchases, but I have improved on that front. I long to go with the flow, but that won’t happen this life as I’ve been the same way since I was 2 apparently. Sigh.
which cover did you end up ordering?
110 days sounds like a lot to me but three months seem short. LOL
